It is the best known of the sabiás. Its feathers have a rust-like coloring on the belly and it has a persistent song during the breeding phase that occurs three times a year. The female lays two to three eggs that take thirteen days of incubation. They feed on fleshy fruits, earthworms and arthropods. An adult orange thrush measures 25 centimeters and can live up to thirty years.
